Ever since the COVID-linked lockdown was announced, thousands  were stranded in cities where they worked, without an income and with no source of food and rations. Thousands more were on long journeys back to their homes and families in villages and smaller towns across the country, negotiating long distances at great personal risk. Through the last few months, there have been constant demands for support to cope with the immediate impact of the crisis, with many organisations and individuals coming forward to help in different ways. We are also doing our bit, connecting people in need with relief by linking them with local organisations, government systems or individual and institutional donors.
